Linda Yaccarino, less than a month after stepping down as CEO of Elon Musk’s X, has found her next gig.
Yaccarino has been named CEO of Miami-based eMed Population Health, which calls itself “the leading digital health platform for GLP-1/GIP population health management.” That refers to the class of weight-loss drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic.
Yaccarino’s hiring “is a game-changing moment in eMed’s mission to make safe, effective and sustainable chronic care accessible directly through an all-in-one, digital-first experience,” the company said Tuesday. “Further, as the company expands its services to accommodate additional national and global employer and government partnerships, Yaccarino’s years of experience will be instrumental in developing innovative programs focusing on the future of peptide population health management.”
Yaccarino stepped down last month from Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) after two years leading business operations at the social network. She didn’t provide a reason for why she left X. Prior to X/Twitter, Yaccarino was chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal, where she oversaw all aspects of advertising, partnerships and strategic initiatives, and had spent 20 years in ad sales and marketing roles at Turner.
Yaccarino, in a statement provided by eMed, said, “The healthcare industry has been disrupted by technology, but not yet completely transformed by it. There is an opportunity to combine technology, lifestyle and data in a new powerful way through the digital channels that impact consumers directly in ways that have never been done before. To be a leader in today’s healthcare marketplace, companies need to have a fearless tenacity that allows them to not only grow, but to also be brave enough to step forward and redefine an entire industry.”
The previous CEO of eMed was Wendi Mader, who before joining the company spent 17 years as an executive at Quest Diagnostics.
