Mediawan Pictures CEO Elisabeth D’Arvieu to Deliver Keynote at Mipcom
Mediawan Pictures CEO Elisabeth d’Arvieu will deliver a keynote interview at the upcoming Mipcom Cannes, the four-day global television showcase that takes place next month.
D’Arvieu, an ardent cinephile who works hand-in-hand with Mediawan CEO Pierre-Antoine Capton, will take part in a fireside chat with Variety’s co-editor-in-chief Cynthia Littleton at the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals on Oct. 13.
The keynote will be part of the ‘C Suite Conversations’ series presented in partnership with Variety on the opening afternoon of the market.
“Mediawan are a major European studio and force on the global stage, whose accelerated growth in recent years has been driven by eye catching deals and critically acclaimed, globally loved content,” said Lucy Smith, Mipcom Cannes director. “It couldn’t be better timed to welcome Elisabeth warmly back to Mipcom to hear her insights as to what lies ahead.”
Earlier this month, Mediawan announced that one of its flagship labels, Brad Pitt’s Plan B (“F1: The Movie,” “Adolescence”) is expanding internationally with the launch of London-based Plan B Europe — with ‘Baby Reindeer’ producer Ed Macdonald on board to run the new outfit. Plan B is rolling off “F1” which became Apple’s and Pitt’s highest grossing film ever and returned to IMAX theaters in August.
Equally active in film and television, Mediawan has a portfolio comprising over 80 production companies across 13 countries, including See-Saw, the British-Australian production company behind “Slow Horses;” Florian Zeller’s Blue Morning Pictures (“Bunker”);” LeBron James’ and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill; Drama Republic (“One Day,” “The English”); Misfits Entertainment (“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story”; France’s Chi-Fou-Mi which is behind “Dog 51” which just closed the Venice Film Festival; Chapter 2 (“The Count of Monte Cristo”) and Italy’s Palomar whose film “Duse” also played at Venice.
Mipcom Cannes attracted over 10 500 delegates from more than 100 countries in 2024 and is gearing up to another busy edition. As previously announced, Banijay CEO Marco Bassetti will receive the Variety Vanguard Award at the event, while YouTube will be out in force with a number of activations to mark its 20-year anniversary, and Sony Pictures Television will host an exclusive preview screening of its upcoming dramedy “The Miniature Wife” alongside its key cast Matthew Macfadyen, O-T Fagbenle and Sian Clifford.
