One of the biggest movies of the summer is now available to watch online. “F1: The Movie” surpassed expectations with more than a $596 million worldwide box office haul. If you missed the auto-race movie when it was released in theaters in June, you can now watch it at home.
“F1” in 4K Ultra HD is available to rent for $19.99, or buy for $24.99 online on Prime Video, Apple TV and other video-on-demand platforms.
Please note: If you opt to rent the movie, you’ll have access to it for 30 days. And once you start it, you’ll only have 48 hours to finish it.
Since “F1” is made by Apple Original Films, it’s unlikely that it’s going to receive a physical media home video release. However, it will eventually make its ways to the company’s streaming service Apple TV+ sometime this year. The movie is likely to be available for streaming sometime in late November or early December.
As for the movie itself, Variety film critic Owen Gleiberman is positive, while he writes in his review, “there’s a certain kind of summer movie that’s so revved and ready to go, so fuel-injected with flash and talent and star power, not to mention an irresistible subject, that before the movie is barely under way you can feel yourself getting excited about being excited. ‘F1’ is one of those movies.”
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, “F1” follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a down-on-his luck racers, who comes out of retirement to mentor Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a flashy, young and arrogant up-and-coming rookie driver. The unlikely pair have to put their differences aside to work together to win it all. The movie also stars Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies and others.
