Rosamund Pike Play ‘Inter Alia’ Reveals Trailer for NT Live
National Theatre Live has unveiled a stirring trailer for the cinema release of Rosamund Pike‘s latest play, “Inter Alia.”
The Oscar nominee stars in the production — which is currently running at London’s Lyttelton Theatre through Sept. 13 — as Jessica Parks, a Crown Court judge at the height of her career. “At work, she’s changing and challenging the system one case at a time,” the synopsis reads. “But behind the robe, Jessica is a karaoke fiend, a loving wife and a supportive parent. While managing the impossible juggling act faced by every working mother, an event threatens to throw her life completely off balance.”
The trailer previews Pike’s powerhouse performance as she switches between the mother and judge roles. “As a mother, I always feel guilty. This job, it takes up so much. It’s never balanced,” she says. “What is it to be a parent? The worry… they don’t tell you about the worry.”
The show marks Pike’s National Theatre debut and also stars Jamie Glover (“Waterloo Road”) and Jasper Talbot (“Redlands”). Written by Suzie Miller and directed by Justin Martin, the team behind “Prima Facie” starring Jodie Comer, “Inter Alia” will be broadcast live in cinemas around the U.K. on Sept. 4. It will then release globally on Sept. 25. Screening information can be found on National Theatre Live’s website.
“Following the success of the National Theatre Live release of ‘Prima Facie,’ which has now been seen on the big screen by 1.4 million people, I’m thrilled to have ‘Inter Alia’ broadcast to cinemas,” Miller said in a statement. “I’ve witnessed firsthand how NT Live can not only reach but deeply connect with and impact audiences across the world, and I hope this play will do the same.”
