‘Very Good Chance,’ Says Vincent D’Onofrio

Vincent D’Onofrio may play the villain on Marvel’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” but in real life, he’s doing hero’s work for fans of the show.

This week, observers picked up on a stray comment “Daredevil” star Charlie Cox made in July during a panel at GalaxyCon, when the actor called the upcoming second season of “Born Again,” due to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026, the “final season” of the series.

Asked about his favorite Daredevil costume, Cox mentioned that set photos from Season 2 of Cox wearing his character’s new all-black suit have been leaked online. “The one that we just finished with in Season 2 of ‘Born Again,’ I think, is my favorite, for a couple of reasons,” Cox said. “One, because it is bad-ass, but also because every suit that we’ve had so far, in some way, is represented in the comics.”

He continued, “But there’s something that we do in this final season that doesn’t exist in the comics. So, it is unique to our show.”

A fan took to X on Aug. 12 to share the clip and tagged Cox’s costar, D’Onofrio, asking him if Season 2 will actually be the show’s last.

D’Onofrio said, “Good chance there will be a third.”

The next day, D’Onofrio followed up on X with more context, noting that he had discussed the status of the show directly with Cox “and we both agree there’s a very good chance for a third season.”

“I believe Charlie meant the last season we actually shot meaning the second season,” he said. “Yet he used the term final season so its a bit confusing.” In a separate post, D’Onofrio clarified that “it’s just too early to tell” about the show’s future. “But it’s very likely.”

A source close to the production confirms to Variety that while “Daredevil: Born Again” has not officially been renewed, it’s chances for a third season are promising.
